We just had a pleasant Sunday with Rudi and Lorrain at Suikerbosrand doing one of our "Potjie's". For the "none South Africans" a "Potjie" is basically a stew done in a three legged cast iron pot and a wood fire. This type of pots been around for centuries. In this case it was done with oxtail...always a good one! Suikerbosrand is a reserve just south of Johannesburg in the hills towards Heidleberg. Its also got a few overnight trails in it, one of which we done some years ago. Besides a nice variety of birds its got Leopard, Jackal, Baboons and various buck species. Always a good place to go to if you dont want to drive far.
"Yours Truly" keenly watching the "brew".
