On Sunday we paid our old friends Derek Abson and Jane Morris a visit on their farm about 25km to the east of
Pretoria. The farm is situated within a conservancy area.
The road leading up to the house.
Derek is normally very keen to show us the latest on the farm and Jane's new hobby is studying
Lichens, so we always get a nice walk through the conservancy area every time we visit.
The recent rains had filled up some of the ponds again.
Derek rocking his present of a bottle of wine for one of the neighbours.
Some rather dark clouds closing in.
The area is quite rocky and hilly.
Some of the smaller "wildlife"
Most of the rocks consist of a type of sandstone that withers away and gives rise to interesting formations.
Some of the colourful Lichens that abound in the area.
A particularly colourful grasshopper.
A braai and slide show followed the walk, with Jane showing us all her photos of her trip to India and the Taj
Mahal.
Some of the five Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs.
This lot were more interested in the food!
