On Sunday we paid our old friends Derek Abson and Jane Morris a visit on their farm about 25km to the east of Pretoria. The farm is situated within a conservancy area.

Derek is normally very keen to show us the latest on the farm and Jane's new hobby is studying Lichens, so we always get a nice walk through the conservancy area every time we visit.

The recent rains had filled up some of the ponds again.

The area is quite rocky and hilly.

Most of the rocks consist of a type of sandstone that withers away and gives rise to interesting formations.
